About KooseKort
What is KooseKort?
KooseKort is a fun, fast-moving card game that has its roots in the classic card games of Golf and Rummy. It's great for friends and family, easy to learn and play, and suitable for ages 7 and up. Players are dealt fifteen cards and the goal is to have the lowest score at the end of four rounds.
One of the best things about the game is that it's about 60% luck and 40% strategy/skill, so even if you have a bad hand, things can turn around quickly if you play your cards right.

We are two sisters (Julie and Laura), one mother (Janet), and one fiancé (Scott, Laura's hubby-to-be). We are from Florida, but now live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, Virginia. In Oct. 2020, we purchased a small inn that dates back to 1830 and have learned that inns are way more fun to stay in than to own! So, the idea of being game

After slipping in a shower on vacation in Sept. 2021, our dear father was severely injured, requiring a feeding tube and oxygen 24/7. Janet, Julie, and Laura took care of him for three years before he sadly passed away in June 2024. Janet, Julie, and Laura took care of him for three years before he sadly passed away in June 2024. KooseKort was developed during this difficult time, as it was something we looked forward to playing when we needed some fun, laughter, and a break from the challenges of caregiving. We would all gather together at the dining room table to play a few rounds. Dad loved the game, too, so we are thankful for the memories we made together.

When we were brainstorming names for our game, we drew from our maternal Norwegian roots and loved the Norwegian word kos (pronounced "koose," like moose) because it means coming together in a cozy setting to have a good time. Then, we added the Norwegian word, kort, which means card. So, kos kort, or "cozy cards." We like that the name K
