When we were brainstorming names for our game, we drew from our maternal Norwegian roots and loved the Norwegian word kos (pronounced "koose," like moose) because it means coming together in a cozy setting to have a good time. Then, we added the Norwegian word, kort, which means card. So, kos kort, or "cozy cards." We like that the name KooseKort is unique, making it available to trademark and also something memorable in the wide world of games.
Our Bigger Why
KooseKort was never planned. We never set out to create a new game, but it was something that developed over time as we came around the table to talk, laugh, and play games during very difficult season of our lives. We wanted to laugh, to add some levity to the heaviness that comes with life at times. And, we already knew how important relationships are. So being together and sharing happy moments are something we are passionate about. Those moments of togetherness are golden. In short, life is better when it's shared with others. And, even better when you add a bit of fun.
